Creative Visualization With The Moon

by Ker Garin, Imperium Lodge

The Full Moon has been the subject of countless poems, prose and songs. Stevie Nicks in her tune “Landslide” called the Moon the “mirror in the sky,” an accurate description because when the Moon, on one side of the Earth is directly opposite the Sun with the Earth in between, then this is the Full Moon phase thus mirroring the Sun. But when the Moon is positioned between the Earth and the Sun, the side of the Moon facing the Earth appears to be dark and invisible. This would be the New Moon.

Since time immemorial, following the phases of the Moon has been paramount to world culture, particularly with farmers who plant crops and harvest them according to the movements of the Moon. This is why the Farmers’ Almanac continues to be an annual purchase for many, and not just for the agricultural community. Farmers have traditionally planted seeds while the Moon is in its New Moon phase for 60 hours and ideally harvest the fruit of those seeds when the Moon is full. This practice can be applied in a metaphysical and mystical way.

The late astrologer Robert ‘Buz’ Myers developed a regimen of creative visualization following Moon phases. This was devised decades ago through much self-research and I can attest to its efficacy. Just as farmers sow seeds during the New Moon, one can petition the Cosmic during that time. Referring to an almanac or astrological calendar, check to see at what degree the Moon will enter into its New phase. (For this purpose, use the Tropical Zodiac used in Western astrology) On November 20, 2025, the New Moon is at 28 degrees of Scorpio at 1:47 am Eastern Time (10:47 pm on November 19 Pacific Time) In which House 28 Scorpio falls on your horoscope is the area of your life in which to focus for the next two weeks.

For example, if that point in your 8th House, the emphasis should be on topics such as high finance, insurance, intimacy issues and other Scorpionic agendas. If that point happens to be in one’s 7th House, the area of long-term relationships, legal matters among other Libran issues should be at the forefront of your consciousness. The optimum time to perform this exercise should begin at the culmination of the New Moon phase or preferably as close as possible but as mentioned, each phase of the Moon has a duration of 60 hours, so this meditation can be done through this period.

It is important to note that your New Moon meditation needs to be done only once during that window and not repeated. Just as those ancient farmers did not re-plant seeds until the crop was harvested, you need to release your petition to the Cosmic and have confidence that it has been duly received.

When the ensuing Full Moon occurs on December 4, 2025 at 6:14 pm Eastern Time (3:14 pm Pacific Time) then for the next 60 hours thereafter, the answer for the petition will manifest.

The Full Moon brings illumination and whatever it is that was visualized in the New Moon meditation from two weeks prior will be revealed. There’s a saying, “God answers all prayers but sometimes the answer is ‘no’ or ‘not yet.’” Know that however the outcome of your petition to the Universe is divulged, it is but a thread in the fabric of your life and there is a reason for it to be shown in that manner. Of course, there will be another New Moon the following month and another opportunity to connect with the Divine.
